I-70 Northwest Development Corporation completed the construction of the $2.4 million Kingsway Townhomes development in April 2008. The 12-two and three bedroom units will provide affordable housing in the heart of North St. Louis at 2301 thru 2323 North Kingshighway (near Wabada).
Fully leased and occupied, the housing development features spacious units with energy efficient appliances, carpeting, min-blinds, central air conditioning, security alarm system, dishwasher, garbage disposal and laundry hook up. All units are affordable to low and moderate income households.
The three-story building was designed by Grice Group Architects and constructed by R.G. Ross Construction Company. Bobby Gissendanner of Urban Real Estate Consultants was the consultant. Financing for Kingsway Townhomes was provided by the St. Louis Equity Fund through the sale of housing tax credits allocated by the Missouri Housing Development Commission (MHDC). I-70 Northwest formed a limited partnership with the St. Louis Equity Fund to develop and own Kingsway Townhomes. I-70 Northwest Corporation is the managing general partner.
The development team, dignitaries, area housing developers, city officials, community groups and residents joined I-70 Northwest Development and the St. Louis Equity Fund at a celebratory Open House and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on May 2, 2008.

I-70 Northwest Development also plans to construct a multi-purpose building adjacent to the new housing development on North Kingshighway. The building will provide adult day care services, computer lab and meeting room for neighborhood residents and a permanent home for I-70 operations.
